How Colordrops Helped Shape the Magic of Smurfs Scene Ride

For the new attraction at Majaland Gdańsk, visitors are invited into the playful, mischievous universe of the Smurfs. The ride takes families on a journey full of color, humor, and adventure — with Gargamel plotting, Azrael watching, and the Smurfs always one step ahead.

Our role at Colordrops was to transform beloved cartoon characters into tangible, durable, and immersive sculptures that seamlessly integrate into the storytelling of the attraction.

Creative + Technical Breakdown:

  • 3D modeling & large-scale 3D printing: Sculptures of Smurfs, Gargamel, and Azrael were designed and printed with precision for theme-park durability.
  • Surface refinement & silicone moulding: Key details were cast and replicated to ensure accuracy and consistency across multiple figurines.
  • Resin casting & reinforcement: Strong, lightweight materials were used for both safety and longevity in a high-traffic environment.
  • Hand-painting & finishing: Each statue was carefully painted by our team of artists, capturing the vibrant colors and playful energy of the Smurfs.
  • Assembly & site installation: After production in our workshop, the figures were transported and installed on-site in Gdańsk, ready to welcome thousands of visitors.

Aesthetic Vision

The challenge was to preserve the cartoon essence of the Smurfs while giving them physical presence and durability in a theme park environment. From Gargamel’s scheming expression to Azrael’s predatory stance, every figure was sculpted to carry the humor and tension that makes the Smurfs’ universe timeless.

All statues and scenic elements were engineered to withstand outdoor conditions, heavy interaction, and long-term use. Lightweight structures, modular design, and resistant coatings ensure safety, easy maintenance, and transport if needed.
