A Story from Down Under

Blinky Bill brings the charm of the Australian bush to Holiday Park, Germany. This playful, adventurous koala and his friends are beloved by families — and in 2025, they’ll come to life in a brand-new themed area.

Colordrops was tasked with creating the scenic setting and character figures that transport visitors to the world of Blinky: rugged landscapes, warm earthy tones, and a cast of eight detailed characters.

Scenic rockwork:

  • Large-scale artificial rocks, textured and painted in reddish-brown hues, evoking the landscapes of the Australian outback.
  • Naturalistic finishes that ground the characters in an authentic environment.

Fiberglass character production:

  • Eight custom figures, sculpted and produced in durable fiberglass.
  • Detailed modeling and finishing work to capture each personality with precision.
  • Hand-painted surfaces to bring vibrancy and life into the playful group.

Integration of sets and figures:

  • Characters staged within rocky backdrops, blending storytelling and environment into a single immersive experience.

The challenge was to recreate “faraway nature” inside a European park. With its earthy palettes, rocky formations, and lively characters, the zone is designed to feel both exotic and inviting.

Every element — from color choices to material textures — was carefully crafted to reflect the spirit of Australia while ensuring durability for high guest interaction.
